The airline Air Corsica has launched a new paid subscription card. Called Mea, it offers discounts on the price of airfare to frequent travelers. Prices and info.
[Updated May 7, 2021 at 5:24 p.m.] While selling 1.5 million seats on its network for the summer period, Air Corsica has been offering the Air Corsica Mea card to its customers since May 6, 2021 . Accessible to all and valid until March 31, it allows you to obtain reductions on all its lines ranging from -10% to -40% (excluding flights to and from Paris-Orly airport, including the price reduction will be -30% maximum).
“Whether you are a Corsican resident, whether you live on the Continent and are therefore not eligible for our preferential rate for Corsican residents, or whether you are a frequent customer of Air Corsica, this card is made for you”, underlines Air Corsica in a press release.
Sold at the rate of €250 and only €50 for minors, the Air Corsica Mea card will allow you to benefit from a preferential rate with reduced prices from -10% to -40% on the standard rate excluding taxes depending on the date purchase of your plane ticket. Nominative and non-transferable, it is valid for flights departing from Ajaccio, Bastia, Calvi and Figari but also from Nice, Marseille, Paris-Orly, Lyon, Toulouse, Clermont-Ferrand, Dole, Toulon, Brussels- Charleroi and London.
The principle is simple: the more you buy your ticket in advance, the more the price offered will be reduced. These reductions apply on the standard rate excluding taxes and are valid excluding promotional rates, call rates and one-way, for a minimum stay of 3 days on site. Tickets purchased at these rates are non-refundable and modifiable, with a penalty of €70 and possible fare readjustment costs. The baggage allowance included is one carry-on bag and one checked bag.
Air Corsica flies to 15 destinations across France and Europe: Ajaccio, Bastia, Bordeaux, Calvi, Clermont-Ferrand, Dole, Figari, Lyon, Marseille, Nantes, Nice, Paris-Orly, Toulon and Toulouse. This season, Air Corsica has gone international by opening a summer line to Brussels-South-Charleroi. The service is expected to be annualized within the next three years.
Choice of seat, special meals, additional baggage… Air Corsica allows you to personalize your trip by modifying your reservation online up to a few hours before the departure of your flight. Know that the choice of your seat is free, even at the emergency exits for the places that offer the most space and comfort. When booking, specify if you are traveling as a couple, as a family, or if you are a Corsican resident in order to benefit from the best available rate. To modify your reservation, you must have your reservation number, the last name of the first traveler and go to the “My reservation” tab (see here). Please note that only files purchased on the airline’s website can be modified online. For others, you must contact Air Corsica sales support or your travel agency.
Once the reservation for the destination of your choice has been made, you can find all the information relating to your trip in a few clicks thanks to the dedicated space “My reservation” on the Air Corsica website: departure airport, time departure and arrival, seat number, additional baggage. In the event of a flight delay, strikes or bad weather, Air Corsica also updates the information relating to a flight in progress in the “My reservation” tab as well as in the “News” section (see here).
At Air Corsica, you can save time at the airport by checking in online for free. On the website of the Corsican airline, you can choose your seat and obtain your boarding pass before arriving at the airport for check-in and boarding. You can check in online for most Air Corsica flights, with the exception of flights departing from Dole and Toulon. If you want to check in at the airport on the day your flight departs, make sure you respect the check-in deadline, which is 30 minutes before the scheduled take-off time.
When you fly with Air Corsica, your reservation entitles you to free boarding with cabin baggage weighing up to 8 kg on ATR72 type aircraft and up to 12 kg on Airbus A320, and with maximum dimensions of 55 x 35x25cm. You can also board with a handbag, briefcase or small laptop.
If your baggage in the hold exceeds the maximum weight authorized per piece (23 kilos), you will be asked for a flat-rate surcharge when checking in: 20 euros on network lines outside Paris, between 20 and 70 euros on Paris- Corsica and 55 euros on Europe lines. Special baggage such as a bicycle, water sports or golf equipment are subject to different charges and must be mentioned in the booking file.
If your Air Corsica flight is delayed due to bad weather, a technical problem or the complexity of flight operations, you can report your complaint to the Corsican company’s Customer Relations Department by mail, remembering to contact all the original supporting documents: the flight boarding pass, the travel memo, the proof of the damage suffered (invoices) and the baggage tags if it concerns a baggage incident. To help you in your process, a complaint form is available on the company’s website. Please note that no complaints will be processed by email.
