CANNES FESTIVAL 2023. Winner of two Palmes d’Or, director Ruben Östlund has been chosen to preside over the jury for the next edition of the Cannes Film Festival in May 2023.
We do not yet know the names of the films in competition for the next Cannes Film Festival. Generally, the announcement is made just a few weeks before the event, in April. For now, the date of the press conference which traditionally announces the official selection of the Cannes Film Festival, has not been revealed.
If it is the stars who make the news at the Cannes Film Festival, it is possible for everyone to participate in the Cannes Film Festival… under certain conditions. Indeed, access to the event is reserved primarily for film professionals and journalists who must be accredited. But cinephiles aged 18 to 28 can also hope to discover films screened on the Croisette thanks to the “Three days in Cannes” pass. We detail how to register and get accredited in detail below:
Ruben Östlund has been chosen as president of the 2023 Cannes Film Festival. A choice that makes sense since the Swedish filmmaker already has two Palmes d’Or to his credit: The Square, in 2017, and Without Filter (Triangle of Sadness) in 2022. We do not yet know the names of the members of the jury who will help him decide on the official selection and will debate alongside him the 2023 winners.
The Palme d’Or at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival went to Without Filter (Triangle of Sadness), a film directed by Ruben Östlund. We follow a couple of models, guests on a cruise intended for the richest people on the planet. The Swedish filmmaker had already won the supreme award at the Cannes Film Festival in 2017, for The Square. Below, find the complete winners of this Cannes Film Festival 2022.
