The epidemic has made 10 people dead since Thursday, in the hospitals, bringing the total number of deaths in 30 to 192 persons. Since the beginning of the epidemic, 19 676 persons died in hospital and 10 516 in institutions, social and medico-social (long-term care facilities). The next update of the figures for the institutions, social and medico-social will take place on July 28.

In total, 5720 people are hospitalized for Covid-19, of which 410 were in the icu, or 26 less than Thursday. The rate of reproduction of actual virus (or “R effective”, based on the tests virological positive) is now 1.3, which means each patient of the Covid-19 infects on average 1.3 other person, a rate increase.
“Find a discipline collective”
Since may 9, 581 cases grouped (or “clusters”) were detected but 366 are “closed”, reports to the DGS. 215 households are therefore still active at 24 July, including 11 newly detected since the previous day. A “cluster” is defined by the occurrence of at least three confirmed or probable, in a period of 7 days, which belong to the same community or have participated in the same rally.

“It is more necessary than ever to find a discipline collective : telework, reducing unnecessary exposures and especially the test is the slightest doubt (484 000 tests per week), the automatic isolation in case of symptoms or contact with a carrier of the virus or an individual patient are essential to limit the recovery of the epidemic,” recalls the DGS.
