While the progression of the coronavirus in some jurisdictions there are concerns in France, the figures are in contrast “to the downside” in the Mayenne, where an increase in abnormal movement of the Covid-19 had been found at the beginning of July, said Tuesday the regional Agency of health (ARS).
“We confirm a downward trend in the incidence rate and the positivity rate and, with all reservations, we can say that our plan of action (…) is going in the right direction”, explained the director general of the LRA in the Countries of the Loire, Jean-Jacques Coiplet, during a conference call attended by the prefect of the department.

The incidence rate, “that is to say, the number of positive individuals reported to 100 000 inhabitants”, is “around 50 per 100 000 population”, he added, specifying that the positivity rate was 1.4 per cent. The LRA notes that the efforts to impose the mask, detect and isolate going “in the right direction”.

The prefect of Mayenne, Jean-Francis Treffel, listed the various measures taken over the last months, including wearing a mask mandatory imposed in public places and 69 communes, the isolation for fifteen days to sixty people”, or even the creation of “41 457 tests in a little over fifteen days,” a figure that he called “exceptional”. These measures were aimed “to avoid a reconfinement, it is necessary to hide, to not have to reconfiner”, he stressed, specifying that a reconfinement local was “an assumption that I excluded altogether at this stage”.
The ARS is “neither an alarmist nor lax”, defended Jean-Jacques Coiplet. On Monday, the president of the council for the département of Mayenne, Olivier Richefou, had accused the regional Agency of health of “stigmatize” his department by publishing “numbers scare”.
“The Mayenne is a beautiful country in which they live and on which we will be able to accommodate all those who wish to join us. All of the measures that have been adopted are in effect measures of protection which demonstrate that we can live in safety in our department, for its part, explained the prefect, Jean-Francis Treffel.
