As soon as the Duke of Cambridge, 38, leaned in toward his brother, 36, following their grandfather’s service, it had been”very hopeful [signal ] for these two young men,” body language specialist Elaine Swann completely told Us Weekly on Monday, April 19.

The royal siblings made headlines on Saturday after they had been seen chatting alongside William’s wife, Duchess Kate. The two men started the funeral by walking beneath the Duke of Edinburgh’s casket throughout the procession. The late royal expired on April 9 at the age of 99.

The duo — whose rocky relationship became even more strained after Harry and wife Meghan Markle’s tell-all meeting in March — were later spotted walking together with each other leaving St George’s Chapel.

“William did his very best to open his body language toward his brother,” Swann clarified of the siblings’ post-funeral walk. “You must check out the fact that he turned it toward him. And so, because opening, that is saying,’Come on in. Let’s talk, let’s chat.’ He did not walk side by side, however he really turned toward his brother.”

As stated by the Swann School of Protocol founder, the brothers revealed indications of reconciliation with how they approached each other following the memorial.

“When you know that you have offended or maybe upset your old sibling, then you’re going to do what you can to sort of make it appropriate,” she explained. “You recognize two siblings trying to pull it all together. I believe Harry was doing his very best to say,’Hey, you know, bro, we’re, we are still here. I’m still here. I still love you. ”’

Saturday’s reunion marked the first time William and Harry had seen each other as the former army pilot relocated to California with Meghan, 39, and their 23-month-old son, Archie, in early 2020. Buckingham Palace announced in February that the couple wouldn’t be returning to their senior royal responsibilities .

“I feel it is a step in the ideal direction because whenever we lose a loved one, the other thing we begin to do is stock,” Swann said, noting Philip’s departure could be the push the royal elephants need to mend fences indefinitely. “The passing of this prince has fast tracked everyone in this family to think about how life is, in the fact that when somebody’s gone, then they’re gone.”

The etiquette expert explained that royal watchers are”seeing in this particular moment” the royal family doing an”stock” on what things after dealing with the March sit-down fallout. “This family is considering the whole scope of things and recognizing that life is valuable,” Swann said. “And so, what a method for [Philip] to actually, in my opinion, kind of pull this family back together again.”

She added that William and Harry’s joint despair and beyond loss of their mom, Princess Diana, could be exactly what fixes their connection.

“That is the 1 thing that’s likely to tie these two brothers [and] keep these two brothers collectively is exactly what they’ve experienced as siblings in terms of their own tragedy,” Swann concluded.

A source previously told Us that Harry knew he was”walking into the lion’s den so to talk ” later coming back to the U.K. on April 12 before his grandfather’s funeral. Even the Duke of Sussex hadn’t seen his family because he and Meghan asserted that racism and lack of service were part of the reason for their departure throughout the CBS interview last month.

The source clarified that the remainder of his household was”trusting” the brothers could”grit their teeth” and make it through the reunion”with no anxiety of animosity.” The source added that Queen Elizabeth II along with her loved ones were hoping that they”can bond in person and put the past behind them.”
