Carol Vorderman recently opened up about her body insecurities and struggles with self-image. The former Countdown star admitted that she is feeling unhappy with her body and weight as her ‘bum has dropped’. She mentioned that she hasn’t been able to keep up with her gym routine due to a knee issue and her busy schedule.

Speaking to Saga Magazine, Carol revealed that she generally carries raw Brussels sprouts in her bag as her favorite snack. Although she is currently not satisfied with her body, she shared that she wears a good bra and jeans that hold her up to maintain her appearance. She also mentioned that she does three 45-minute gym sessions a week, focusing on squats for her bum.

Despite her body confidence dip, Carol emphasized that she doesn’t care about what others think of her looks. She has a laid-back attitude towards people’s opinions and is comfortable in her own skin. Carol shared that she practices intermittent fasting, leaving a long gap between her last meal of one day and her first meal of the next day.

In addition to her diet and fitness routine, Carol also mentioned that she detoxes twice a year to reduce inflammation, purify her blood, boost circulation, and aid in weight loss. She emphasized that detoxing is not about counting calories but being mindful of the foods consumed. Carol explained that she embarked on a 28-day detox diet back in 1999, which led to significant changes in her eating habits.

Despite her focus on health, Carol revealed that she hasn’t weighed herself in 24 years. She avoids stepping on the scale and doesn’t let doctors tell her what she weighs during medical check-ups. Carol shared that she follows a healthy diet and avoids keeping unhealthy treats in her house to maintain her figure.

Reflecting on her past struggles with weight gain, Carol explained that she resorted to a detox diet in her thirties after putting on extra weight. She described the detox diet as a 28-day plan that excluded meat, wheat, dairy, and sugar. Although criticized at the time, Carol’s detox diet has now become more accepted as a standard practice for detoxing.

Carol’s journey with her body image and self-care serves as an inspiration to many. Despite her insecurities and struggles, she remains confident and focused on maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Through her openness about her experiences, Carol encourages others to prioritize their well-being and embrace their bodies with confidence and acceptance.
