Aubrey O’Day, a former member of the girl group Danity Kane, has come forward with shocking allegations against rapper and music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs. O’Day claimed that Combs groomed and controlled her appearance while they were filming “Making the Band” back in 2005 when she was just 21 years old.
During a recent appearance on the “Crysis Queen” podcast, O’Day opened up about the challenges she faced while working on the MTV reality series with Combs, who served as an executive producer. She reflected on how she auditioned for the show and ended up being labeled as the “sexy face” of the band, a role that she felt was imposed on her by Combs.
According to O’Day, Combs would criticize her appearance on camera while simultaneously giving her strict instructions on how she needed to groom herself, right down to her toenails. She described a situation where Combs reprimanded her for not having her nails properly painted, highlighting the level of control he exerted over her image.
O’Day also claimed that Combs went as far as forbidding her from being friends with certain individuals, including a “certain very big name person” whom he was involved with. She recounted a moment where Combs instructed her to cut ties with this individual, signaling a shift in their relationship dynamics both on and off camera.
The singer further alleged that Combs’ behavior was part of an abusive cycle, where he would manipulate and control her to serve his own interests. O’Day compared the grooming process to that of the military, where individuals are broken down and rebuilt to fit a specific mold desired by their superiors.
In addition to her personal experiences with Combs, O’Day expressed her belief that there are more victims who will come forward as the legal case against the rapper unfolds. She claimed that Combs had attempted to buy her silence by offering her publishing rights in 2023, an offer she refused.
Combs was recently arrested and charged with sex trafficking, prostitution, racketeering, and fraud. O’Day celebrated his arrest, describing it as justice for women around the world who have been affected by his alleged actions. The charges against Combs include coercing individuals to fulfill his sexual desires and participating in a criminal enterprise that engaged in various illegal activities.
