After a Season 2 that failed to stem the loss of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 players, Activision is launching a third season of content for the Battle Royale and multiplayer of its latest title.
[Updated April 04, 2023 5:40 PM] Warzone 2.0 was announced as an undeniable success when it was released, attracting no less than 25 million players in a few days. A little less than six months later, the game has hit records again, but not the right ones. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has never had so few players on its multiplayer and its Battle Royale, enough to push Activision to announce a new season of content in mid-April. Season 3 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is looming more and more, we tell you everything about its release and its content.
Season 3 of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 will officially begin on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. (French time). After a new season that struggled to seduce despite a new map and some balancing adjustments, the free-to-play Battle Royale will offer players the opportunity to find two of their favorite elements, the return of the Call of Duty Intervention sniper: Modern Warfare 2 from 2009, and that of the Loot mode very popular with Warzone players first of the name.
In addition to Intervention and Pillage mode, which are making a comeback in a struggling Warzone 2, Activision and Infinity Ward are counting on the arrival of a competitive mode to rekindle the flame that left a good part of Battle Royale players. Indeed, a ranked mode will appear in the famous free-to-play mode, allowing players to find opponents of their level in high-stakes games, and to climb the divisions (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Purple and Iridescent). Note that the absence of ranked games in Warzone 2 was put forward as one of the reasons for its abandonment by many figures in the world of streaming.
