other countries such as Spain, have experienced peaks more pronounced and more localized, according to a british study published on Thursday.
The United Kingdom has experienced the highest excess mortality recorded in Europe since the beginning of the pandemic of novel coronavirus, while other countries such as Spain have experienced peaks more pronounced and more localized, reports a study in the uk this Thursday. On the whole of this period, England recorded the levels of excess mortality – not necessarily directly related to the Covid-19 – the highest compared to other countries studied by the national statistics Office (NSO).
The highest peak of excess mortality at a national level has, however, been noted in Spain. Some areas of northern Italy and central Spain have experienced levels is particularly important, in Bergamo (north of Italy) recording the most significant rate of excess mortality at 847,7% of the average, during the week ending march 20.
Worst record to Birmingham
“So that none of the four nations of the United Kingdom had a peak of mortality as high as Spain or the most affected regions in Spain and Italy, the excess mortality has affected the whole of the Uk during the pandemic, while it was more localized geographically in most countries of western Europe,” said Edward Morgan, analyst at the ONS in a statement.
