Developed by franchise showrunner Eli Jone, The Walking Dead: Dead City isn’t the first universe spin-off series. It’s even the fourth, after Fear The Walking Dead (eight seasons, 2015-2023), The Walking Dead: World Beyond (two seasons, 2020-2021) and Tales of The Walking Dead (one season, 2022).
In the cast of this new chapter of the post-apocalyptic universe populated by zombies, we find Lauren Cohan in the role of Maggie, emblematic face of the series and last survivor of the Greene family, present since season 2 of The Walking Dead, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan in that of Negan, assassin of Maggie’s husband, who forgave him.
In a post-apocalyptic Manhattan long cut off from the mainland, the city of gutted buildings is filled with the living dead and inhabitants who live anarchically between terror and danger. Maggie arrives in New York to retrieve her missing son, asking Negan to lend her a hand.
