The mayor of Saint-Malo, himself, decreed the wearing of the mask mandatory in some shopping streets, during the weekend of the Ascension and Pentecost.

“Of unacceptable behavior” led to the closure of several beaches in Brittany. Three communes of the Morbihan, have called for the closure of their ranges, reopened last weekend, after having found the incivility and non-respect of the rules of estrangement, said on Wednesday that the prefecture, which is preparing to issue orders in this sense.

“After several exchanges with the mayors, several municipalities have desired to close their beach from Wednesday evening”, the eve of the bridge of the Ascension, said the prefecture, confirming information of the local press.

“The large beach of Damgan will be closed (the others being accessible only for the water activities), the beaches of Billiers will be closed and the beaches of Erdeven will be closed,” said the same source, adding that it was “possible that other mayors should make the request”.

“These closures are taken in consultation with and at the request of the mayors, are the result of unacceptable behaviours recorded during the last weekend,” said the prefecture, citing “antisocial behaviour”, a social distancing “ignored”, the non-compliance with municipal by-laws with “more static groups”, the “degradation of the arrangements put in place by municipalities”, the “non respect of environmental issues with, for example, dogs in the wild”…

Saint-Malo (Ille-et-Vilaine), the mayor has announced that he would take an order on Wednesday making the mask-wearing compulsory from 11 hours to 18 hours intra-muros, in some of the streets shopping, during the weekends of Ascension and Pentecost.

No incivility in the South-West

“It’s hard to enforce the distanciations. The mask, it is also a very effective way to recall the context in which it is,” said Claude Renoult, mayor (various right) of Saint-Malo. On the beaches, “we are going to spend pedagogy to verbalization” (fine of 135 euros) from Thursday, added the mayor, pointing out that a very limited number of people that do not respect the “dynamic” of the beach.

In Britain, no other application of close range has not been reported, according to several prefectures. Ditto on the Moors. “There has been no issues of unreliability from us”, said the chairman of the joint union management of bathes landes (SMGBL) Hervé Bouyrie, also mayor of Messanges. “We are ready to welcome the world this weekend”.

In the Gironde, none of the 17 mayors of the coast which had been granted last week for an exemption for the re-opening of their beaches has backtracked, according to the prefecture.

In Charente-Maritime, no mayor has not made such a request according to the president of the Charentes tourism Stéphane Villain. The trend is the same at the opening of new beaches : the prefecture has authorized Tuesday the re-opening of beaches in 12 municipalities additional.
