The fugitive, now 77 years old, was arrested on Wednesday by the american federal police (FBI) in New Mexico, where he resided for the last forty years under a false identity, Ramon Montoya.

“The time past is not an excuse and does not erase his crimes.”

“This arrest should send a strong signal to all the violent criminals : the FBI will find you, no matter the time it will take or how far you will flee, and you will lead to justice,” said special agent Michael Schneider of the FBI office in Denver.

Luis Archuleta was jailed for having fired one in 1973, without the kill, a police officer from the capital of Colorado, where he is to be sent to be judged.

“The time past is not an excuse and does not erase his crimes,” said the chief of police of Denver Paul Pazen in a press release from the FBI not explaining this that has helped lead to the arrest of the septuagenarian.
