Viewers recently bid farewell to a widely acclaimed series. But it’s not impossible that the characters will return one day in the form of a spin-off.

On June 12, Apple TV subscribers said goodbye to Ted Lasso. Season 3 ended with a feeling of finale, with the protagonist leaving AFC Richmond to reunite with his family. Nevertheless, some plotlines remained open and questioned fans about a potential sequel. But Jason Sudeikis, main actor and creator of the series, continued to claim that this was the end of the series featuring an American football manager taking over the reins of a small British football club. In the aftermath, many actors said goodbye to the series.

While Ted Lasso seemed so well and truly finished, Apple TV left a glimmer of hope for fans. The platform’s Twitter account mysteriously wrote on Twitter that the new coaching team, formed by Beard, Roy Kent and Nathan Shelley had “potential”. On Instagram, actor Phil Dunster (Jamie Tartt) paid tribute to the series with a series of behind-the-scenes photographs, writing, in the caption of one of them: “Hey Siri, play ‘Time to say goodbye’ [It’s time to say goodbye, editor’s note] (but maybe not right away, we don’t know) by Andrea Botticelli”. A questionable sentence, suggesting that it is not impossible that Ted Lasso will return one day.

For his part, Brendan Hunt, interpreter of the unforgettable Coach Beard and co-creator of the series, indicated on Reddit that “anything was possible”, still leaving doubts hanging over a possible return of the characters of Ted Lasso. “We don’t know anything at the moment. We need to take a break, and that’s what we are doing now. Nothing has been ruled out, everything is possible, but it also means that it is possible that It’s over. We won’t know until we take the time to digest it all, decompress, etc. While waiting to find out if the AFC Richmond footballers will return to the small screen, the three seasons of Ted Lasso are available in full on Apple TV (and also accessible with a subscription to MyCanal).
