[Updated Aug 29, 2023 4:45 PM] Over the summer, several regional committees elected their representative for the next Miss France election. This is the case of Réunion, which appointed Mélanie Odules to wear their crown at the Zénith de Dijon, on December 16, 2023. She assured the microphone of the 1st thus realizing a “little girl’s dream”.

The new Miss Réunion is 20 years old and works as a sales consultant. She hopes to one day become a flight attendant or go back to school to become a nurse. But for the moment, it will be necessary to put aside these professional ambitions to devote himself to his year of reign. She also hopes to succeed in reconciling her obligations as Miss and her commitment to an association that fights against poor housing. A commitment that she could defend on the set of TF1 during the Miss France competition.

Before selecting who is Miss Reunion, four elections are held on the island to elect Miss North Reunion, South Reunion, Miss East Reunion and finally Miss West Reunion. It is only then that a regional election is held each year whose victorious candidate is then sent to the Miss France competition to try to win the crown. Two candidates from Reunion have been crowned in the past: Monique Uldaric in 1976 and Valérie Bègue in 2008. In addition, Kelly Hoarau replaced Miss France in 1978.
