A judicial inquiry has been opened following this accident.
The victim of the accident in which Marwan Berreni was allegedly involved testified to Le Parisien, admitting “hoped for progress in the investigation”. “There is a systematic decline in morale [when she is alone in her room, editor’s note] and I am brooding. She hopes one day to be able to confront the culprit of her accident, “so that she can realize that she did not just hit a cat or a squirrel, but a person who has been hospitalized for three weeks.” The victim, who worked in the restaurant business, was hospitalized after breaking eight ribs and suffering injuries to his liver and lungs. She also suffered from bruising and a fracture to her right pelvis and clavicle. She is now in a specialized rehabilitation center, where she will stay for a minimum of 3 weeks.

Marwan Berreni knows the place well since he lives in Fuissé, a town neighboring Mâcon. The same town where the 4×4 was found. But the police were unable to find him at his home. He is currently considered a witness in the investigation. The Journal de Saône-et-Loire clarified that: “no charge weighs against him at this time but he must be heard as a witness first”. The agents suspect him of having fled to the south of France. The gendarmes would favor the trail of “a road accident accompanied by a hit-and-run” according to Le Parisien. A judicial investigation has been opened.
