[Updated July 19, 2022 at 4:48 p.m.] Guyana has found its representative for the Miss France competition. Shaïna Robin was elected Miss Guyana 2022 in Matoury on July 16, 2022. Aged 20, this young woman is from Kourou. She succeeds Mélysa Stéphenson, former defending champion, who ranked in the top 15 during the last national election.
The new Miss Guyana is currently a student in the preparation class for the Grandes Ecoles Sciences. Shaïna Robin is ambitious, since she plans to become an airline pilot one day. Before that, she set herself the goal of winning the Miss France crown, the election of which is to be held next December in Châteauroux. The evening will be broadcast on TF1 as every year.
Miss Guyana elects a young woman each year to the Miss France beauty pageant. Several candidates present themselves annually in the hope of becoming the ambassador of the overseas region. Since the creation of the Miss France competition, only one Miss Guyana has won the Miss France crown: it is Alicia Aylies, in 2017.
