VINGEGAARD. As he fell on the 13th stage of the Tour de France, the Dane seems slightly affected before starting the last week.
Will Jonas Vingegaard win his very first Tour de France? Second last year, the Jumbo rider has a lead of more than two minutes in the general classification over Tadej Pogacar, double winner out of the Grande Boucle, while there is still a big week of racing with the Pyrenees on the program and his two summit finishes in the Rocamadour time trial.
But on a bike, nothing is ever acquired. While everything seemed to be going perfectly for the Dane, the loss of Roglic and Kruijswijk should handicap the Tour leader, especially as the rider is also slightly affected after his fall even though he did not mention anything. “Today was a bad day for us. Steven had to leave the race after a heavy fall, Tiesj and I also hit the ground afterwards. I’m fine, hope I can say the same for Tiesj. He fell on me, I couldn’t do anything more. Unfortunately, these are things that happen in cycling. I just have abrasions on the left side of my body”, says Jonas Vingegaard
