Jamie Lee Curtis returns in "Halloween Ends": Everything You Need to Know About this Horror Sequel

After the success of 2018’s Halloween, and 2021’s halloween kills, Jamie Lee Curtis and director David Gordon Green have teamed up again to produce the third installment. In October 2021, the Scream Queens alum said that it would make people angry. It’s going to be a stimulant for people. It will agitate people. It is a wonderful way to close this trilogy.”

Green was hired to revive the slasher franchise in 2017. He decided to erase any continuity from previous sequels. As revealed in 1981’s Horror II, Laurie Strode (Curtis), is not Michael’s sibling. Jamie ( Danielle Harris) is her only child. She appeared in Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers, and Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers.

He returned home again the night before. Michael Myers will be returning to the big screen in the final ride in the sequel Halloween Ends .

“I feel that Michael Myers almost became Frankenstein’s monster in the sequels. In May 2017, cowriter Danny McBride described how he became this superhuman. “Nothing could really kill him,” he said to Business insider. He is not scary anymore. We look at it and see it as much more frightening to have the man hiding in the shadows while you take the trash out, than a guy who can be shot many times but still comes back to life.

McBride & Green made a new trilogy but they kept referencing the sequels. Halloween kills shows Haddonfield, Illinois residents wearing the skeleton, witch, and jack-o-lantern masks from 1982’s October III: Season of the Witch. This film is the only one in the series that does not feature Michael Myers.

Halloween Kills also featured the return of Kyle Richards and Lindsey Wallace , who were among the children Laurie was watching in original film.

“I didn’t know it would be so big and that, you, it would have fans still passionately about it after all of the years,” the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star exclusively revealed to Us Weekly on October 2021. Just like when I signed up to Housewives, I thought it was a job for two weeks and didn’t know if I would be successful or not. You just never know.”

The Cast

Both Curtis Richards and Richards will be reprising their roles as Laurie Lindsey and Deputy Frank Hawkins, respectively. Allyson Matichak, Laurie’s granddaughter, will be back, as will Will Patton, who will reprise his role as Deputy Frank Hawkins. Nick Castle, James Jude Courtney, and Michael O’Leary, will portray Michael Myers. Dr. Mathis was briefly mentioned in Horror Kills. Judy Greer who played Laurie’s little girl, Karen, won’t be returning, as Michael killed her in Halloween kills.

The Plot

Laurie was still recovering from her last encounter with Michael when Halloween Kills concluded. Karen was killed while protecting Allyson and Michael was once more on the loose. However, the new movie will not continue from Halloween kills. Green says Halloween ends will begin with a four year time jump. This means that Laurie will return to action after being in bed for most of the movie.

It will also include events from the real-world, such as the coronavirus pandemic. Both Halloween (and Halloween kills) were created in 2018. Green stated that the world will be different if we leave these characters at Halloween 2018. They have to deal with the trauma in their immediate environment. They also experienced a pandemic in the world, peculiar politics, and many other things that turned their world around.

The Release Date

Halloween ends will be in theaters October 14, 2022.

Are There More?

Green stated that he has no plans to make another movie after Horror Kills. However, he appears confident that someone else will step in after his departure. He told Collider that he was confident that the mythology will take over and that Michael and Laurie would emerge as a new filmmaker and storyteller. But for me, it’ll be over. I do hope that they will take some time before they revive it. That’s not my opinion.
