Warner Bros would be in the process of validating a Harry Potter series, each season of which would take up each book written by J.K. Rowling. This project still in the discussion stage could be released on HBO Max.

This is news that should delight Potterheads (Harry Potter fans for short). A series centered on the adventures of the young wizard could indeed see the light of day. This project, which had been the subject of rumors for several months, would be on the way to being concretized by Warner Bros. According to the Bloomberg media, the studios holding the rights to the franchise would be ready to sign an agreement to launch a Harry Potter series. It could then be released on HBO Max, a successful streaming platform in the United States which does not yet exist in France.

This Harry Potter series would not, however, be a spin-off or a prequel. According to information from the economic site, this project would be a complete reboot of the film and literary franchise. Each season would accurately adapt one of J.K. Rowling’s novels, with the premiere focusing the plot of the book Harry Potter at the Sorcerer’s Stone. The author, whose remarks on transidentity are very controversial, would have a say in this adaptation and will have a creative role, but would not work as the only showrunner in the series.

Remember that if this Harry Potter series project seems well advanced, nothing has yet been finalized, and we therefore do not know, logically, the release date yet. Discussions are still ongoing according to Bloomberg. The business media, however, suggests that the Harry Potter series could be announced at a press event organized by Warner Bros Discovery on Wednesday.

While the Harry Potter series project is not officially validated, we cannot help but wonder about the possible casting. The series would indeed only come out about twenty years after the launch of the cinematographic saga. In the minds of fans, Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint are still attached to the characters of Harry, Hermione and Ron. It’s hard to imagine new performers already, especially since the original actors are currently in their thirties. If they have already shared their desire to play professors at Hogwarts in the future in the event of a complete reboot of the franchise, it is difficult to imagine them taking on the features of Snape or even McGonagall in this series project. We will still have to wait to know if the series is confirmed, and an official announcement on the project and the casting, to be fixed.
