A minor who is suspected of having punched a bus driver who had asked him to wear a mask, Tuesdays at Orleans, was indicted “for violence on the person in charge of a public service mission”, announced on Friday the public prosecutor of Orleans.
The alleged perpetrator, 17-year-old and arrested on Thursday, has been placed under judicial control by the judge of children, with prohibition to enter in contact with the victim and the use of public transport in the metropolis of Orleans (Tao).
Four days of ITT
The driver of the Tao group (Keolis) had been prescribed four days of ITT (total incapacity of work), in particular because of an injury to an eye.

According to the prosecutor’s office, the driver had noted the minor that wearing a mask was mandatory in public transport. The young Orléanais, yet never condemned by the justice, had pulled up his T-shirt to the level of her face and was headed towards the back of the bus. It was returned a few moments later, this time with a mask, to land several blows to the driver, before fleeing.
On 10 July at Bayonne, a bus driver, Philippe Monguillot, had died after being violently assaulted by two men, while he wanted to control the ticket of the passenger and required the port of the mask to the other three.
This death had caused a profound emotion and convictions unanimous. The funeral of the victim had been followed by hundreds of people.
