Emmanuel Macron announced on Monday night that a “specific indemnity” for the number of police officers working the night will be paid for the amount of 10 million euros, according to a press release from the ministry of the Interior. It is one of the demands expressed by the trade unions of police during their meeting with the minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin on 20 July.

During their meeting with Gerald Darmanin, the trade unions had also highlighted the lack of resources, considering that the envelope of € 75 million of additional funds to renew and green up the fleet of vehicles of the police and the gendarmerie obtained in the framework of the project budget adjusted 2020 was not sufficient. The minister and the union representatives have planned to meet again later in August.
