Gérald Darmanin has threatened to lodge a complaint against the elected of the Hauts-de-Seine after his remarks during the commemoration of the rafle of the Vel d’hiv.
The new mayor EELV of Colombes, in the Hauts-de-Seine, has compared the forces of the order current to the Vichy police during the commemoration, which was held in the town on 19 July, reports Le Parisien.

“The French gendarmes who have obeyed the orders of their superiors in implementing the Vel d’hiv raid and other raids after, and elsewhere, are the ancestors of those who today, with the same zeal, hound the migrants, undocumented migrants, the seekers of human rights, these living beings trying to survive in poverty,” said Patrick Chaimovitch.

in A speech endorsed by the mayor as soon as the next day in a Twitter post where he returned, “this poignant moment during which I was keen to make the link between the raid of Vel d’hiv, and all the genocides before and after the rise of nazism ; on the other hand the migrants hunted down all over Europe because they are different”.
on Sunday evening the minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin has also reacted to the speech on Twitter : “if the remarks outrageous and unbearable towards the police and the gendarmerie of the Republic are confirmed, I will be tabling a complaint to the mayor of Colombes who compared the forces of law and order in the Vichy police”, he wrote.
