The Verbraucherzentrale Hamburg named recently the cheating of the year. A Lidl Salami landed on number one, but customers will be tricked with this product twice.

This mesh is even in two ways brazenly: “Turkey salami Light” of the Lidl own-brand Dulano made it to number two of the cheating of the year 2018. The consumer center of Hamburg is awarding this “prize” annually, under five nominated products, which the manufacturers impose hidden price increases. First place went to another product, however, Lidl will be drawn to customers in the purchase of the Light-Salami Dulano twice on the table.

Because the supposedly slight Salami is 33 percent more expensive than the normal Salami variant of the same manufacturer, reported welt.de. Who now thinks, for a healthy products you have to grab deeper in the bag, you are wrong. For a look at the ingredients lists of the two Salami variants shows that they are identical. And that’s not all: The Light Version has even more fat and consequently more calories than the normal Salami. The deceptive Light-Salami is detrimental to not only the purse, but torpedoed the fight against the Kilos.

The manufacturer H. Kempter GmbH & co. KG, Lidl Salami originates, defended towards the consumer Hamburg. The Declaration of the Salami with the “Light” was not admissible because the sausage contains more than 30 percent less fat than a “normal” Salami made with pork. The Statement of the consumer: “that is correct, but this comparison is not for many consumers to understand.”

The good news is that naming and shaming was effective. The Discounter Lidl wants to now run until the middle of February, a unification of the sausage-packing – to “Dulano light Turkey salami, 200g”.
