For the first time in its history, the Grand Rex cinema will close its doors in August. The complex parisian of 7 rooms of cinema, which has existed since 1932 and is the victim of a large decline in attendance and the absence of blockbusters, as a result of the health crisis.
“Between the decline of attendance and the offer too low of films, especially american, which usually get the attendance in the summer, we have decided to close our doors as of August 3 in the evening. Our reopening in late August, will depend on the movies to the shows”, said this Monday, Alexandre Hellmann, director of the Grand Rex.

“We lose less money to close than to keep the teams with the attendance demoralizing. If all goes well, we hope to reopen on August 26, with a big american release, before a marathon of Harry Potter that we are going to propose anyway from of 29,” added Alexander Hellmann.
“Address the reality of the moment”
