The Russian president, Vladimir Putin has displayed his ambition to put into production in September what he presents as the “first” vaccine against the coronavirus.

The minister of health French Olivier Veran has pointed out this Tuesday that France and the Europeans are “in the expectation of large companies in order to have a vaccine”, while Russia has claimed to have developed the “first vaccine” against the coronavirus.

“I don’t have to give my trust to this vaccine Russian”, simply said the French minister asked him about the announcements of the Russian president, Vladimir Putin. “We are not in the approach of a French physician, we are in a european approach (…) that works with all the major laboratories to make sure that we have access to a vaccine”, he added during a trip in the seaside resort of la Grande-Motte, near Montpellier, in the south of France.

“For the moment, from what I know of scientific studies that are published, we are waiting for large laboratories to have a vaccine”, he insisted. “I hope of course it will happen as soon as possible. Some speak to us of fall, others we speak for the first half of 2021”, he added.
