“The speed with which the chilean courts, in a context of Covid, has responded to our request for extradition is outstanding,” praised Stephen Coats. According to the investigators, Nicolas Zepeda was made at the beginning of December 2016 to Besançon to see the young woman. On the evening of 4 December, they were back together in the housing of Narumi. That night, according to the prosecutor, several students were heard “howls of terror, cries”. But “no one has alerted the police”.

“Profile pervasive and disturbing”

He claimed to have spent part of the night of 4 to 5 December with her, but claimed to be then left alone.

The family of Narumi “hope that it will be a line of defense different,” “find the body of Narumi, that’s all that matters,” said their lawyer, ms. Sylvie Galley, with the announcement in may of the extradition of the Chilean.
