the Paul McCarney and Ringo Starr , half of Beatles , gathered to record a cover of Grow Old with Me”, a song written by John Lennon in the months before he was killed, in December 1980. The song also includes parts of a song by George Harrison . Lennon wrote Grow Old with Me while recorded Double Fantasy, his last album, signed, along with his wife Yoko Ono . Discover the song Starr was the producer of Double Fantasy, Jack Douglas , who did listen to the musician a demo version.

“Jack asked me if I had ever heard of the Bermuda Tapes, demos of Lennon’s from that period,” recalls Starr, in an interview with the british newspaper the Guardian, “but I had never heard of… I loved this song. The other nice thing is that I really, really wanted Paul to participate and responded positively. I reached up and played bass and sang a little with me. There is John, there is me and there is Paul. It is not a publicity launch, is what I wanted. And the strings that Jack has arranged for this song, if you listen carefully, restate a verse of Here Comes the Sun. So we can say that we have all four,” he explained. Harrison died from lung cancer in 2001.

The song will be available soon: it will be part of the What’s My Name”, the new album that the drummer will publish on the 25th of October.
