Former secretary of state Hillary Clinton, for her part, opened up about her positive experience for a troop member in 2012 while speaking to a group of Girl Scouts on the first-ever International Day of this Girl.

“I benefited from my years associated with Girl Scouts, starting out as a Brownie, flying up, getting a Girl Scout, getting what we predicted in those years so long ago a Mariner Scout, acquiring badges,” she recalled at the time. “There’s some folks of my vintage [age] or a tiny bit nearer who can remember those days.”

The politician continued,”However, the Girl Scouts not only educated me great tunes that I still sing, but lifelong lessons about leadership and the value of public service and friendships that go back all those years and keep me grounded because I am with people who understand that I had a very hard time starting a fire in the rain.”

“I have so many fond memories of growing up with my sisters and my very best buddies, and selling biscuits was such a big portion of our entire year ,” she informed Teen Vogue in 2013. “This was the exciting area of the spring. You want it annually.”

The supermodel noted the troops”were very close” in her area before adding,”It was amazing to be part of something which was big — it was a really special organization. It is!”
