With the song “To Be Honest”, released with its clip this Wednesday, March 8, Christine and the Queens, aka Redcar, announce the release of a new album in June.
Redcar is dancing again. This Wednesday, March 8, Christine and the Queens publishes the song To Be Honest, the first extract from an album announced in stores on June 9. The track was released along with its music video, in black and white, in which the artist, who made the video himself and recovered from his recent knee injury, dances facing the sea on the English coast, dressed in the costume black specific to its new identity, that of Redcar, gendered now in the masculine.
The singer therefore announces the release of a fourth album, only a few months after the publication of Redcar: the adorable stars, prologue of an “operatic gesture”, in his own words, published last November. With the first single from the sequel to his project, To Be Honest, Redcar returns to the ingredients that made Christine and the Queens so successful: a voice sublimated by a powerful and celestial rhythm. Further, then, new-wave sounds of the 80s from his previous project, divisive, presented on stage at the end of last year.
Redcar’s next album, called PARANOÏA, ANGELS, TRUE LOVE, will be released on June 9, 2023. It has twenty tracks, co-produced with Mike Dean (Lana Del Rey, Beyoncé). And by way of featurings, Christine and the Queens offers two artists, the American rapper 070 Shake and… the most famous popstar in the world, Madonna. Just that !
