RATP STRIKE 6 APRIL. The strike against the pension reform is also taking place in the Parisian transport of the RATP this Thursday, April 6, 2023. Some metro lines and the RER A are disrupted while the traffic of the RER B, buses and trams is normal. We take stock of the forecasts.
[Updated April 5, 2023 at 5:42 p.m.] This Thursday, April 6, the RATP unions are joining the 11th interprofessional and general strike movement against the pension reform. Nevertheless, the disruptions will be much less significant compared to previous strike days. Indeed, the management of the RATP announces “almost normal traffic on the RER network” and “almost normal traffic with the exception of a few lines” on the metro.
Buses, trams, Orlyval, Roissybus and Orlybus included, will not be disturbed. On the other hand, it will be necessary to expect that metro stations will close in the afternoon and that line 6 of the metro will be disrupted due to the demonstration on Thursday April 6, scheduled for 2 p.m. between Invalides and the place d’ Italy, route of the procession. The special pension scheme for some 40,000 RATP employees is threatened with the pension reform, which represents 93% of the workforce. On March 30, the CGT-RATP published on its Facebook page: “Let’s keep up the pressure on April 6. Reform is always no!”
