Five years after “Soldier”, her last album, the French singer Jain signs her return with a first single, “The Fool.”

Five years that she had not released music: the singer Jain signs her return, this Thursday, February 23, with the song The Fool, the first single from an upcoming album. A song much more pop and folk than usual, released accompanied by its clip, in which the artist sits on the moon and floats in space. “A new beginning is taking shape”, promises a press release. It does seem that Jain is heading in a completely different direction, farther away from the colorful electro of his first two records, Zanaka and Souldier.

In 2019, Jain took the decision to take a break, to settle in a fisherman’s hut in Marseille and compose new things. The Fool, Le fou in French, is the “first and last card of the game, the one that connects a whole story with a thread”, writes Jain in the same press release.

A few days ago, Jain announced his return on social media, with a series of tour dates throughout France. La Toulousaine will perform in particular at Solidays in June, at the Vieilles Charrues in July, then in various Zeniths in France, as far as Paris, at La Vilette, on November 23, 2023.
