Halle Bailey, known for her role in “The Little Mermaid,” recently opened up about her breakup with DDG after two years together. In an Instagram post, she shared photos of her workouts with their 9-month-old son Halo, pool time, and a moment in a recording studio with a glass of white wine. She captioned the post with “life is beautiful,” accompanied by heart emojis, hinting at her positive outlook despite the split.

Interestingly, Halle included Destiny’s Child breakup anthem “Survivor” in her Instagram Story, a song led by her mentor BeyoncĂ©. The lyrics “I’m a survivor / I’m not gon’ give up / I’m not gon’ stop / I’m gon’ work harder / I’m a survivor / I’m gonna make it / I will survive / Keep on survivin'” resonated with her current situation. Her sister Chloe Bailey also showed her support in the comments, expressing her love for Halle.

While Halle had not publicly addressed the breakup at the time, DDG, whose real name is Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., confirmed the split on his Instagram Story. He shared that they had decided to end their relationship amicably, emphasizing that they remain best friends and co-parents to their son. Despite the breakup, DDG expressed deep and true love for Halle and cherished the moments they shared.

The couple went public with their romance in 2022, but they first met back in 2015. Halle explained in an interview that she was inspired by young Black creators on YouTube, including DDG. After forgetting about him as her career took off, they reconnected when he released his music, leading to the start of their relationship.

Looking back at their time together, the couple shared various moments, including introducing their son Halo, attending sports games, film premieres, awards shows, and other red carpet events. Despite their split, Halle and DDG continue to support each other as they focus on their individual journeys and co-parenting responsibilities.
