The Knights of Biel at the Théâtre le Paris

Regulars of the festival, the Chevaliers du Fiel return this season to conquered territory, at the Théâtre Le Paris! Set off on a crazy crossing of the Atlantic on a boat deemed unsinkable: the Titanic! Twelfth Night at the King René Theater

Already on the bill at the Théâtre du Roi René at the Off d’Avignon festival in 2022, the dynamic company Les Lendemains d’Hier returns this year with La Nuit des Rois. Freely adapted and directed by Benoît Facerias, this revisited comedy by William Shakespeare has been a real success since its first outdoor version in 2016. The story? The Turing Machine at La Scala Provence

Meet the British mathematical genius with incredible life: Alan Turing! In the middle of World War II, faced with the use by the Germans of an inviolable encryption machine, the Allies form a team to decrypt the opposition’s messages. Alan Turing will then become the pioneer of computing that we know today. The work was awarded 4 Molières, including Living Francophone Author, Private Theater, Stage Direction and Actor in a Private Theater Show. A striking sight!

The Little Hairdresser at the Théâtre des Gémeaux Avignon

After the triumph of Adieu Monsieur Haffmann (4 Molières in 2018), Jean-Philippe Daguerre continues his wonderful theatrical career with Le Petit Coiffeur. A jewel of creation, the piece transports you to the end of the Occupation, during the summer of 1944. Inspired by the famous photo by Robert Capa, “La Tondue de Chartres” (in which we see a woman, shaved head, holding her baby in her arms at the time of the Liberation), we follow the story of Pierre, the “little hairdresser” who had to cut her hair.

Tony Saint Laurent at the Cinévox Theater Avignon

A past master in the art of stand-up, Tony Saint Laurent awaits you at the CinéVox Théâtre (place de l’Horloge) for an ultra-efficient and delirious show. Revealed in 2013 in the Jamel Comedy Club troupe, he is one of the recurring guests of the show “Vendredi tout est permis” presented by Arthur on TF1. Behind closed doors at the Laurette Theater

A flagship and historic piece of French theatre, Huis clos by Jean-Paul Sartre is performed on the boards of the Théâtre Laurette for the Festival Off d’Avignon 2023. It is presented to you by a troupe of actors with remarkable acting in a carefully crafted staging with a master’s hand. Sartre describes to us his idea of ??hell where the torture is not physical: “hell is other people”. Three characters find themselves, at their death, in the same room and their trial (behind closed doors) begins. They come from very different social backgrounds and each judges his neighbor on the acts of his life. Their future is sealed in hell and they cannot leave it. In short, a charming reflection on the judgment of others.
