AMUSEMENT PARK and COVID – Parc Astérix, Futuroscope, Le Pal, Walibi… France’s amusement parks are preparing to reopen, even if they won’t all be there this Wednesday, June 9. Amusement parks, zoos, museums, concert or sports halls, discover all the stages of the reopening of cultural and leisure venues.

[Updated June 11, 2021 at 8:26 p.m.] Amusement parks were able to reopen on June 9, such as Parc Astérix, with a delayed curfew at 11 p.m., but not all of them are there , some reopenings take place later, this is the case for Disneyland Paris. It is worth checking, further down in our article, the reopening dates for each park. Visits to amusement parks are by reservation only. As for the restaurant and bar terraces, they are once again welcoming customers with a 50% gauge, and a maximum of six people per table.

Since May 19, museums and monuments in France, as well as cinemas and theaters, have been able to reopen their doors. These cultural establishments must however respect a reduced gauge, of 8 m² per visitor. Again, most visits are by reservation only and not all reopened at the same time (see below).

When are theaters and game rooms open?

Cinemas, museums, monuments, theaters and other seated performance venues have reopened with a reception gauge at 65% of the initial capacity, with a ceiling of 5,000 people per room. Discover the list of reopened establishments:

As of June 30, there is no longer a reception gauge in cinemas, theaters and performance halls. As for the reopening of fairgrounds, it took place from June 9, announced the president of the Federation of fairgrounds of France. But not all of them reopened on June 9, the time to get organized, like the Fête des Loges.

Trade shows and fairs opened at 50% of their initial capacity, with a cap of 5,000 people maximum. A health pass is requested if more than 1,000 people are welcomed despite the reduced tonnage. From June 30, the gauge will no longer be reduced at trade fairs and fairs and the health pass will still be required if the reception capacity exceeds 1,000 people.

While many museums, monuments and exhibition halls have confirmed their reopening since May 19, with a reduced gauge of 8 m² per visitor, including very large institutions such as the Louvre, Orsay or the Palace of Versailles, others have need more time: on the museum side, the Louis Vuitton Foundation will only open on September 22, 2021. On the monument side, the Eiffel Tower will only open on July 16. Museums and monuments can reopen without using the health pass, reserved only for places and events welcoming more than 1000 people. From June 9, tourists will have the obligation to visit cultural places in France with a health pass, deployed at European level on July 1.

Here is a non-exhaustive list of the major institutions that have reopened in Paris and across France since the end of May:

Restaurants, bars and cafes have reopened their indoor rooms since June 9, at 50% of their capacity, with the exception of hotel restaurants that are open at 100%. The terraces are now 100% open. Tables are limited to a maximum of 6 people, in seats, and a paper or digital reminder book is required in the interior rooms so that customers can report themselves. Finally, on June 30, a progress report will be made and could make it possible to lighten this system.

Since June 9, indoor sports establishments including swimming pools and non-contact sports have been authorized for all practitioners, respecting a reception gauge of 50%. On June 30, indoor sports facilities and contact sports are allowed for all practitioners.

From June 30, the concert halls can reopen their doors, with a limited number of people fixed by the prefect and a health protocol to be respected, including the health pass if the room exceeds 1,000 people. Standing open-air festivals can reopen with a gauge of 4m² per festival-goer, and a maximum ceiling defined by the prefect. The health pass is always requested if more than 1,000 people are welcomed at outdoor festivals.

We don’t know her yet. The establishments, closed since March 16, 2020, are pending… Alain Griset, Minister Delegate for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, will set a date for the reopening of nightclubs from June 15.
