One of the loans is Jacob Bellevois’ Trip to the Spa, is a representation of a naval battle, under the leadership of Michiel de Ruyter in 1667.
Along with Inder Rieden selection of the staff of the Flushing museum for the work that fit in with the story of the new layout of the museum. That’s new, is the story of a journey through the eyes of the sailors, as to how the trade came about and how Zealand, the wealth and power acquired in the seventeenth century, but also the deep scars left behind.
In the run-up to the renovation, the museum is already an exhibition dedicated to the six long-term loans. The exhibition opens on the 26th of June, shows a picture of the Golden Century on the water, in the province of Zeeland and beyond.
The entire collection Of Rieden has 67 marineschilderijen, and is currently on display at the Museum Bredius in The Hague, the netherlands.
