Three French clubs have qualified for the quarter-finals of the European Rugby Cup.
The European Cup weekend was positive for French clubs with 3 clubs out of the 5 entered qualifying. Apart from LOU which lost heavily against the South African franchise Bulls, the French clubs responded. La Rochelle, who got off to a very poor start in the first half against the Stormers, managed to overthrow the players from the Southern Hemisphere to offer themselves a Dantesque quarter-final on the Leinster pitch.
With its Patrouille de France, Bordeaux Bègles was once again impressive in extinguishing the triple European champion Saracens. Yannick Bru’s men will play their quarter-final at home against the English Harlequins and can dream of a final four. Finally, Stade Toulousain crushed Racing this Sunday April 7. Overtaken in all areas of the game, the Parisians are experiencing a very delicate end to the season. The Toulouse will face the English of Exeter for a new European semi-final.
