When it comes to the world of fashion, there is nothing more exciting than taking part in London’s Fashion Week. This is a week that is dedicated to the creativity of stylists around the world. Whether they are new or established, there is always a chance to shine and get to grips with the latest styles. Having taken some inspiration from New York’s own fashion week, this year’s fashion had an extremely urban flavour, meaning that no matter what sort of event you are at, such as at an important conference or even just relaxing at home, you can always look like a fashionista.
The General Style
As mentioned previously, this years style focused on the grit and dirt that could be combined with a passionate mixture of static and vibrant colours, as well as highly angled and sharp fabric. This meant that any colour that was added to the clothing, or the appearance of the model, was extremely noticeable and gave a reason to why the style was labelled as “whimsical” and full of “wanderlust” and “decadence.” What truly mattered for this year’s style was to make a statement. That was why some looks truly took the idea of dramatic to a whole new level. But do not worry, you can still incorporate them into your style without changing your full look! Just pick the aspects of the fashion show that you enjoy the most and make them a part of your outfit. The more effortless it appears, the more natural you will look. That means you can remain fashionable without going over the top in relation to your style.
1. The Bigger the Better!
It does not matter what sort of career you have or person you are, whether you are a high-powered businesswoman or a vivacious camden escort, the bigger your hair is, the better it will look. Fashion is going back to the idea of volumised hair through hairspray, backcombing and wild untamable curls. Whilst some fashion icons decided to go for a stick up punk style, others, like Anthony Turner, wove a number of plaits and curls that gave a feeling of the romantic country lady from the Victorian period. That combined with quirky and large bows truly gave a feeling of innocence and soft beauty. Whilst this is best suited towards a more relaxed outfit, if you want to incorporate this into your business look, you can never go wrong with curls and a bunch of tightly knit braids! An added bonus is that when you take them out at the end of the day, your hair will have a natural curl added to it.
2. Graphic and Glitter Eyes
Naturally, there cannot be a fashion show without there being a splash of colour being involved. If you are looking for a way to add a little dramatic to your makeup routine, why not add a dense coat of shimmer eyeshadow combined with some thick pastels to truly highlight the eye shape. What makes these colours truly stand out is when they are combined with a dark outfit. That way, a 60’s vibe is given to the wearer and people are naturally drawn to look at their face. At the show, this was mainly utilised by Sam Bryant with their “cool-girl constellations” look. The pastels truly gave a soft look, but the combined glitter truly makes the eye design as a whole stand out. It is perfect for that soft party look for any woman who wants to look her best, but not look too dramatic.
3. Multi-Lined Eyeliner
We all know of the sexy cat eye look when it comes to eyeliner. After all, when this signature look is combined with a smokey palette, it can truly give the user a sexy, smouldering stare. But nowadays, one flick is just never enough. Not only has the “barcode eyes” look, by Thomas de Kluyver, truly made an impact on the fashion world, but it truly has added a dramatic flick to your “fake lashes”. It is perfect for those looking to add a little drama and enhance the overall shape of the eye. You can indulge in a black liner, but if you want to truly create a colourful splash on fashion, try going for deeper, sensual colours, like crimson and purple.
4. Feminine is Fabulous
If you are the sort of woman that loves to indulge in all things that are lacey and silky, then you are in luck with Fashion East’s collection of delicate designs. Hre motto is “softness is power- we don’t need to dress like men.” As a result, all of her clothing has an essence of sweetness and is designed to ripple around the female body. It gives an essence of the Japanese Fashion style of “sweet lolita” but with a simpler frame. Thus, if you have any soft lace outfits that you can combine with a floaty skirt to enhance your natural feminine shape, you should bring it out to highlight your womanly charm. Empowerment is in femininity and it should be fully embraced by all women!
5. The Multi Lip
One lip colour just seriously is not enough. Have you ever thought about how different shades of colour could be used to contour your lips? Whether you want to stay with your crimsons, you can use lighter and darker shades to add a little curve to your lip shape. However, if you truly want to make a statement, why not combine two stark colours together? These are great for parties and can give you a truly eccentric look if you combine it with a dark coloured outfit. At the end of the day, this look can be made to fit a classic red lip and an “out-there” colourful palette. Just spend some time choosing your favourite lip colours before you blend them together! You are sure to find some favourites that suit your skin type perfect, as well as your normal fashion style.
