The iPhone SE 4 is apparently well into production. The SE models make it possible to offer older components, lower the cost of production and offer consumers iPhones at a lower price. According to the latest leaks, the iPhone SE 4 would have a 15.4 cm OLED screen instead of the traditional LCD.
It’s hard to know what features the iPhone SE might include, but one can try to predict what features it wouldn’t include. An example would be Face ID, which only high-end iPhones can benefit from.
iPhone SEs generally benefit from the design of the latest high-end iPhone. According to the leaks, the iPhone SE 4 will have a 15.4 cm OLED screen instead of an LCD screen. It would also include 5G compatibility for its communications.
According to leaks by Ian Zelco (Front Page Tech), the iPhone SE 4 will only have one camera, which is likely to be a wide-angle lens of around 12MP. Since this is an SE model it’s not unlikely that it will include the return of a night mode as well as a cinematic mode.
It is not easy to predict the release date of iPhone SEs in general. The intervals between previous versions do not follow a specific schedule. Smartphone expert Ross Young at Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) predicts that the next iPhone SE could see its release in 2024. iPhone SE prices are still low compared to iPhones coming out at the end of the year. The SE 4 could therefore cost the same amount as the iPhone SE 3rd Gen, possibly with a slight increase.
