If your package weighs more than 2 kilograms, this trick can save you nearly 90% of the shipping cost. And even better: it also works for sending parcels within Europe.

Sending parcels has never been so expensive. When you look at the postal rates for an unfortunate Colissimo, you can faint. It costs almost 15 euros for a 5 kg package and more than 20 for a 10 kg package. A substantial sum that not everyone can afford.

So the French looked for a trick to pay for their parcel shipments much, much cheaper. What is it ? We interviewed Jeanne (her first name has been changed) who explained it to us: “To send a package of around 5 kg, I knew that sending it by Colissimo would cost me a fortune. I found a fallback solution: Vinted. I have two accounts on the platform. On my main account, I put up for sale a baby garment that I had on hand for 1€ by choosing the cheapest shipping costs. Then I am connected to my second account. On this one, I indicated as the address the contact details of the person to whom I wanted to send my package. And I immediately proceeded to purchase the item offered for sale with my first account. I then only had to go back to my first account to accept the sale and the deal was concluded. Then all I had to do was print the packing slip and send my box. So yes , it is written “500 g” on the label but when we often sell on Vinted, we know that the weight is never checked in the relay-packages. A trick not 100% honest but very economical!”

All types of parcels can thus be sent by Vinted. And you can even use Vinted to send parcels from one country to another. For example, Spaniards studying in Italy use Vinted to send products to their families. These testimonials were broadcast on TikTok

Obviously we must hurry to take advantage of this trick before Vinted is no longer attentive to the weight of the goods. But for now, it works. There are even some product sellers on Vinted who state in their listing that they have put the minimum weight so that the buyer is not overcharged for shipping and make a selling point of it!
