25 years after the release of The Full Monty, a new series broadcast on Disney this Wednesday, June 14 brings together the heroes of the cult film. For this reunion, the series can count on its original cast and screenwriter.

In 1997, a small independent film recorded catastrophic scores during its first week of diffusion in the cinemas. Word of mouth can do wonders, and the story of a group of unemployed English ex-coworkers who improvise an all-out strip show becomes an interplanetary hit. The Full Monty owes its success to its typical English humor and its lightness which nevertheless serves to illustrate deeper social themes.

Almost 25 years after the film’s release, a series of The Full Monty sees the light of day on Disney. The episodes are available on the streaming platform from June 14, 2023. For this mini series in eight episodes, the original actors and new faces gathered around screenwriter Simon Beaufoy, who had already written the 1997 film.
