Rumors and upcoming news about the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 have become more and more insistent in recent weeks. First of all, the first big novelty of the smartphone would be in its design and its processor. Samsung intends to continue to offer a foldable phone that can compete with its new competitors.
Samsung was eagerly awaited on the external screen of the Galaxy Z Flip 5. After the arrival of very promising competitors like Oppo or Motorola who now offer larger external screens, Samsung had to review its famous foldable smartphone in clamshell format. Widely acclaimed by a wide range of manufacturers, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 has already proven itself in the past (especially in the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra) thanks to its excellent performance.
Like previous generations, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 has two photo sensors on the back of the device (a main lens and an ultra wide-angle). The latter each have 12 Mpx to take pretty everyday shots and will benefit from all the algorithmic processing of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor to improve their quality.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 also has a 10MP selfie camera so you can take photos even when the smartphone is unfolded.
The battery of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 does not change this year and continues to have 3700 mAh. The smartphone still has wired charging up to 25W and compatibility with wireless charging up to 10W. However, we will have to test the efficiency of the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and its impact on the battery given the performance of the latter on previous smartphones released this year (including the S23 Ultra which has excellent autonomy!).
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 will be officially available for sale online and in stores from Thursday, August 10, 2023. This new flip-folding smartphone is however already available for pre-order with several great offers that you can find at the beginning of this article.
This release date is not very surprising. Samsung had notably announced its Galaxy Z Flip 3 and 4 at the beginning of August 2021 and 2022. We therefore see that the firm generally launches its foldable phones in the middle of summer.
