The epidemic of Covid-19 continues to hit the territory, and has made 15 new deaths in 24 hours in the French hospitals, announced on Wednesday the general Directorate of Health (DGS) that will alert on an increase in positive tests especially in young adults.
The balance sheet total of the number of deaths since the beginning of the epidemic stood at 30 238, 19 of which 723 in hospitals and 10 of 515 in establishments social and medical-social (nursing home), specifies the DGS in a press release.

Increase “significantly more pronounced” among young adults
But “the proportion of positive tests increases to 1.4% and there has been increase significantly more marked among young adults. If they have little risk of developing a severe form of the disease, young people can contribute to spread the virus if they do not comply with the measures barrier and infect their loved ones, parents, grand-parents and vulnerable people”, warns the DGS.

It reminds us of the importance of organising festivities and gatherings “in the open air rather than in enclosed spaces”, to “limit the number of participants, to carry systematically the mask when the people are not part of the family circle usual or in the presence of at-risk people, and especially to keep the distances between people”.
The minister of Health Olivier Veran has even prompted the French to the port of the mask outside, depending on the situation : “If you are in a street where there are several people who are going to wander and you are not sure of being able to keep the distance, I recommend it”, he said on Wednesday during a trip in the Yvelines.
646 clusters on the territory
The virus continues to circulate on the whole territory of the country with 646 cases grouped (“clusters”) from 9 may ; 22 new since Tuesday, but 399 closed so 247 homes that are still active. A “cluster” is defined by the occurrence of at least three confirmed or probable within a period of seven days, which belong to the same community or have participated in the same rally.
