The Italian goalkeeper-icon Gianluigi Buffon has revealed, in his time at Juventus Turin suffered from depression.
Paris – “A couple of months everything seemed to me to be pointless. It is not felt so that others are interested in me, but only for what I am,” said the 2006 world champion, the magazine Vanity Fair: “All they asked only to Buffon, no one to Gigi.”
The low point in Buffon witnessed by his own admission at the age of 25, when he asked his former goalkeeping coach Ivano Bordon, before a League game, not to play, because “I was not able to do this. If I had not made this experience, this Obfuscation and Confusion would not have shared with other people, I would not have come there, perhaps to get out,” said Buffon.
His sporting future of the goalkeeper, the self as a “curious 40-year-old character, who’s on the playing field, he thinks, would be 20, and more dreams and ambition than he was as a Boy”, continues with the French League leaders Paris St. Germain.
Buffon is currently experiencing in Paris its second or third spring. The PSG goalkeeper legend celebrates under coach Thomas Tuchel a victory after the other.
