The Austrian TV correspondent Eva Twaroch died at the age of only 55 years in Paris. The popular journalist has worked since 1982 in the ORF.
Paris – On Sunday, the popular Austrian TV-journalist Eva Twaroch, passed away unexpectedly in Paris. ORF Director General Dr. Alexander Wrabetz revealed deeply affected: “Eva Twaroch was an outstanding journalist who has been informed by many years, our audiences about what is happening in France. Eva Twaroch reported always up to date with all the greatest use of the focal points of the action, and analyzed with the utmost of competence, the political and social developments and made comprehensible.”

born in 1963, Twaroch came in 1982 as a freelancer for the ORF. Since 1991, she was correspondent and head of the Paris ORF offices. In Parallel, Eva Twaroch also worked as a journalist for French media. In 1999, the then French Minister for Europe Pierre Moscovici, presented by France and Austria jointly awarded the Joseph Roth prize for journalists. In 2007, Eva Twaroch received the Golden order of merit of the Republic of Austria. Since 2008, she has also taught at the Institute for political science of the University of Innsbruck.
Several Austrian media are reporting that Twaroch have yet reported on Friday for the ORF news programme “Zeit im Bild” (ZIB). The cause of death is not yet known.
