Sara Pascoe, 34, married Steen Raskopoulos (comedian), in 2020. The couple announced Sara’s pregnancy last November.

Sara posted to Instagram that she had conceived the couple via IVF after a tragic miscarriage. She wrote: “I’ve been shy in posting about my pregnancy partly because of my anxiety after losing one at year’s beginning, but also awareness of other people’s experiences.

“There is a lot to be sad about, but there can also be joy and luck. But I am in the third trimester and realized that if I don’t post soon, I will be with a buggy next spring and look like I stole a child.

“Also, I was able to conceive via IVF. I offer my support and love to anyone who is going through it. I want you to have everything you need and know how courageous you are to embark on this unknown journey.

After meeting at an Australian comedy festival 2 years ago, the couple quietly got married. The news was only announced months later.

Sara spoke out about the pair in an interview with The Big Issue. She said that the pairing was initially “kinda my mum’s worst nightmare” as she believed her daughter would move to Australia after meeting Steen (originally from Sydney).

After Sara’s mum had told Sara, “You are not moving to Australia”, Sara was able to reassure her that he is moving here.

She said, “I’ve done what my dad did – he married an Australian woman, and I’ve taken an Australian back.”

When Sara was asked by The Express why Steen is the one, Sara said: “Funnily enough it’s nothing important or big.”

It doesn’t matter how simple everything is. It’s calm.”

She said, “We can communicate on anything and everything.” Every speed bump along the way is familiar to me. It’s so good.

It frees your mind to do so many other things. “I count my blessings every day.”
