With the heat wave that is sweeping over France, high alert, of vigilance has been raised for fifteen departments, of which a large part of the Ile-de-France.
Fifteen departments are now in a vigilance red, either the whole of the Hauts-de-France and Seine-et-Marne, because of a heat wave called to last until at least Tuesday, announced Météo France. The red alert heatwave is only used for the third time in France. The first two were triggered last summer.
“the Whole Ile-de-France is in red and the Seine-et-Marne”, and “the five departments of Hauts-de-France (Aisne, Nord, Oise, Pas-de-Calais and Somme), over the Eure and Seine-Maritime, due to the “risk of excess mortality in the context of present health-related ozone pollution and the Covid,” said Météo-France.
on Friday afternoon, the temperature rising to over 35°C over a large part of the country, frequently higher than 38°C in the South-West to the Loire valley and even to 40.2°C in Bretenoux (Lot) and 40.4°C in Barbezieux (Charente), said Meteo-France.

This red alert allows you to be more vigilant in the face of the phenomenon and implies a “health warning” to all citizens. All persons in the area of the red alert are concerned by the complaint vigilance, not only the elderly, recalling that everyone is exposed to risks related to the heat wave.

maximum alert also requires maximum mobilisation of the authorities, including the activation of a cell inter-ministerial crisis, which brings together all the ministries concerned by the heat wave. In each department affected by the red alert, the prefects have also established an operational centre to coordinate the action of State services. The prefects in particular, may take exceptional measures related to the organisation of public events.
Edouard Philippe, the then Prime minister, explained last summer on LCI that this alert is in effect “the opportunity for the prefects to postpone or cancel the events when they present a risk (…), outdoor activities for the youngest and the most fragile, sports competitions, where appropriate. All of these measures are legally permitted by this ranking vigilance red.”
