The project honoring Princess Diana’s legacy was started in October 2019. It has been completed by 1,000 workers. They have focused on Diana’s favorite flowers including forget-me nots.

He revealed that Diana, Princess Of Wales, while she was at Kensington Palace, admired the Sunken Garden’s changing floral displays and would often stop by to chat with me and other gardeners about it.
William and Harry had originally planned the tribute to their mother back in January 2017. However, delays led to a new date being announced for August 2020.
They said that it had been twenty years since the death of their mother and they felt the time was right to honor her positive influence in the UK, and all over the globe with a permanent statue. “Our mother had a profound impact on so many lives. We hope that the statue will encourage all who visit Kensington Palace, to reflect upon her life and her legacy.
At the unveiling of the statue, which will be their first public event since Prince Philip’s funeral in April, the siblings will remember their mother.
“Prince William, Prince Harry, and their mother Diana, Princess of Wales will attend a small ceremony to commemorate the unveiling of the statue in the Sunken Garden at Kensington Palace, on Thursday 1st of July,” a spokesperson from the palace stated in a statement to US on June 25. “In addition to Diana, Princess of Wales’s close relatives, members of the statue commission, the sculptor Ian Rank–Broadley, as well as Pip Morrison, the garden designer, will also attend.”
