The DGCCRF was recalled on Monday a range of hydroalcoholic gel because of its too low concentration of ethanol, which does not sufficiently protect against the virus.

The Directorate general for competition, consumption and repression of fraud (DGCCRF) has launched this Monday a reminder of the hydroalcoholic gel “Hand sanitizer”, commercialized by the brand Symex, reports Le Parisien.

Not good enough

In question, a “ethanol content insufficient to ensure a true anti-viral and anti-bacterial,” explains including the DGCCRF, which does not protect sufficiently against the Covid-19. These vials do not contain that 27 % of ethanol, while the national security Agency of medicines and health products (MSNA) recommends a concentration ranging between 60% and 70% to be effective.
