She’s fine with it. After Meghan Markle’s recently announced children’s book drew comparisons to another 2018 title, author Corrinne Averiss defended her through social networking.

“Reading the description and published excerpt of the Duchess’s brand new publication, this is not the exact same story or the exact same theme as The Boy on the Bench,” Averiss tweeted Wednesday, May 5. “I really don’t see any similarities”

“The Bench started as a poem I wrote for my husband on Father’s Day, the month after Archie was born,” that the Suits alum stated in a media release. This representation was particularly important to me, and Christian and I worked closely to depict this particular bond through an inclusive lens.”

Following the statement of this publication, online critics began assessing The Bench to Averiss’ 2018 publication, The Boy on the Bench, illustrated by Gabriel Alborozo.

“The playground is packed with kids playingwith, but Tom is sitting on a seat with his daddy. He’s simply not sure he’s brave enough to join in,” the writer’s description of The Boy on the Bench reads. “Tom can’t see an area for himself anywhere in the playground. On the slide, or on the roundabout or on the swings… However, when a little girl loses her teddy, will Tom have the guts to assist?”

The brief excerpts published from The Bench don’t appear to be about the child characters’ relationships with other children, but instead their relations with their own parents. In 1 case, a young boy greets his dad, dressed in military fatigues, while his mother watches from the window.

In another image, a dad rests on a bench while his son rests on his torso. “My expectation is that The Bench resonates with each family, whatever the makeup, as much as it does with mine,” the duchess added in the press release.

In that their March tell-all interview, which aired on CBS, the couple shown that the infant is a woman .

“Only to have a boy and a girl, what more can we ask for?” Harry gushed at the moment. “We’ve got our loved ones. We have got, you knowthe four of us along with our two dogs, and it is great.”
