The hurricane could well be put to the test the emergency services of one of the States most affected by the pandemic Covid-19 in the United States.
Already largely impacted by the consequences of the coronavirus, the people of Florida are not at the end of their sentence : the State is preparing this Sunday to the passage of Isaias, the hurricane that dumped torrential rain on the Bahamas, Saturday, before being demoted to the rank of a tropical storm.
The prévisionistes believe that Isaias could regain strength and become a hurricane by touching the coast of Florida, where he will put to the test the emergency services of one of the States most affected by the pandemic Covid-19 in the United States. Isaias, who has been downgraded to a category 1 hurricane to a tropical storm on Saturday night blew up maximum winds of up to 110 km/hour above the straits of Florida.

The national hurricane Center (NHC) based in Miami said that the storm would grow and become a hurricane during the night in approaching the south-east of Florida before moving to the east coast of the peninsula. The region was already violent gusts of rain Sunday morning.

“We will begin to see the impacts of the storm this evening, and then of course, tomorrow, tomorrow night”, said Saturday evening the governor of Florida Ron DeSantis. Palm Beach county has launched a notice of voluntary evacuation, he said.

According to the NHC, “well that Isaias has weakened after its passage on the island of Andros, in the Bahamas, it is expected to strengthen Saturday evening and Sunday morning when the cyclone moves over the warm waters of the straits of Florida and the Gulf Stream”.
“Isaias is expected to remain a hurricane until Monday, followed by a gradual weakening on Monday night or Tuesday,” added the organization.

Nasa, for its part, followed very closely the storm, which could disrupt the return to Earth of the capsule of the manned SpaceX, after a two-month mission to the international space Station (ISS). Crew Dragon must bring two astronauts on Sunday afternoon for a water landing off the coast of Florida in the gulf of Mexico if the weather permits.

At 23h34, the capsule has begun the process to leave the ISS and land on the water Sunday in the gulf of Mexico to 18h41, according to the u.s. space agency. A site off the city of Pensacola, in northern Florida, has been selected as a “priority” for landing, with an alternative in the face of Panama City, if the sea was too choppy or the wind is too violent.
Roads submerged by the mud, high-voltage power lines torn down, and trees and vegetation beheaded, houses flooded… Isaias has done so since Thursday, many of the damage to Puerto Rico, us territory, in the dominican Republic, not counting the Bahamas.
A test at the time of the Covid-19
The republican governor of Florida has declared Friday a state of emergency for the counties of the east coast of the State, Miami-Dade, Nassau, which has been approved by the president, Donald Trump Saturday, for the granting of funds. “This will help our State to respond rapidly to any damage,” tweeted Ron DeSantis.
The passage of the hurricane on the Florida comes at a time when this State of the south-eastern United States is already facing a strong resurgence of the epidemic of coronavirus. Florida said Saturday 179 deaths related to the new coronavirus in a day, a balance sheet slightly down, after the record of the previous days (257 dead Friday, 253 died on Thursday, 216 Wednesday, 186 Tuesday).
